The State Park Acquisition Record and Document Review Project
Several State Parks under the jurisdiction of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation are located within
the State Forest Preserve counties as identified in Environmental Conservation Law § 9-0101(6). Recently, members of the public and interest
groups have requested that OPRHP research the acquisition history of eight Parks within Forest Preserve counties but outside of the blue line,
to determine if they are subject to the protections of Article XIV of the New York State Constitution. This document is the result of that
research.
OPRHP has agreed to provide one set of relevant records to the Association for the Protection of the Adirondacks' Adirondack Research Library.
